Acceptable use

theway.host is built for churches to welcome people, care for them and keep their records safe. These rules protect every church on the platform and the people they serve. They're part of our Terms of Service.

Please don't use theway.host to

• Break the law, or help someone else break it.
• Send spam: texts or emails to people who haven't agreed to hear from your church, or who have asked you to stop. Everyone who replies STOP must stop getting texts.
• Harass, threaten or bully anyone, or publish hateful content that calls for violence against people.
• Publish photos, music, sermons or writing you don't have the right to use.
• Collect gifts or money under false pretences, or pretend to be a church or person you're not.
• Upload malware, or try to get into accounts, data or systems that aren't yours, including another church's data.
• Overload or disrupt the service, scrape it in bulk, or get around its limits (such as sign-in, texting and AI limits).
• Share sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children. We report it to the authorities.
• Record sensitive information about people without a good reason and the permission you need, especially about children.

Your church's beliefs

Churches are free to teach and publish what they believe. These rules are about conduct that harms people or breaks the law, not about doctrine.

What happens if the rules are broken

We'll normally contact the account owner first and give a chance to fix things. In urgent cases (a security risk, illegal content or harm to someone) we may remove content or pause an account straight away, then explain why. Serious or repeated problems can lead to closing an account.

Reporting a problem

If you see something on a theway.host site that breaks these rules, email us with the web address and what's wrong. Security problems can also be reported as described in our security.txt.
